In recent years, as the concept of environment protection is growing stronger day by day, the people pay widely great attention on the application of different kinds of industry waste residues, among which making use of gangue for highway engineering is an example. There arc many advantages for applying gangue as base course material to construct highways. At the same time, a suitable means for treating this kind of industry waste has been obtained. Concerned with the gangue used as a base course material of pavement, this paper explores the following aspects in detail its advantages, scope of usage, economic benefits, ete.In this paper physis-mechanics property of lime-flyash stabilized coal spoil is studied. through the research, lime—flyash stabilized coal spoil and lime-flyash stabilized coal spoil and shale soil used as pavement base of county road in lacking aggregate district is superiority and reasonable. According to choose mixtures which are composed of different lime-flyash content and diferent aggregate gradation, regulations of mechanics capability and shrinkge capability can be found by series of experiments and analyses about several factors such as binder content, graded style and curing time . Meanwhile, based on these regulations, the gradation and composition of thelime-flyash stabilization aggregate which are satisfied the requires of base course's strength und shrinkage capability can be proposed. By doing indoor experiments, the page also studied the principle of intensity formation, mechanical characteristics, and temperature shrinking property of the cement stationary coal gangue, cement flour coal ash stationary coal gangue, and lime powder coal ash stationary coal gangue, and found the feasibility of using the inorganic binder stationary coal gangue as the base course material. Thus a conclusion can be drawn that it is economic and feasible using the inorganic binder stationary coal gangue as the base course material.By studying the application of inorganic binder stationary coal gangue base course, in the area filled with coal gangue, the obvious economic eficiency can be got by using the local coal gangue recourse as the base course of the country roads. To some degree, this will be a guide for the design, construction, and quality management of base course of the country roads in the future. Meanwhile,the feasibility of al-lication of coal gangue in highway construction is allalyzed.
