The modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) is the most popular research direction of contemporary Chinese medicine development, which has become a hot spot in the medical research at home and abroad. But the quality, drug safety and effectiveness of TCM is still a big obstacle. The study of traditional medicine fingerprint chromatogram provides the standard for evaluating the quality of TCM, and also provides the scientific basis for the further development and utilization of traditional Chinese medicine resources. The common extracting methods and fingerprint research methods were on Reviews. The present status of of Astragalus, Lycium barbarum and Polygonatum cyrtonema Hua were introduced. When studied polysaccharides in Astragalus, Lycium barbarum and Polygonatum cyrtonema, the optimum technological conditions of the flash extracting type were researched. The optimum conditions were as follows: the temperatue is 65 oC, time is 2 minutes of each time, pH value is 10, solid-liquid ratio is 1:10 and ethanol concentration is 5 %(V/V). The average molecular weight in polysaccharides was analyzed by gel chromatography (GPC). The results showed that the molecular weight of Astragalus polysaccharides(APS), Lycium barbarum polysaccharides(LBP) and Polygonatum sibiricum polysaccharids(PSP) were between 16, 000 ~ 51, 000, 8, 000 ~ 44, 000, 28, 900~36, 700. The results of analyzing polysaccharides by NMR, displayed that APS, LBP and PSP contain a variety of different kinds of monosaccharide. Study of the polysaccharide with gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS) suggests that polysaccharides are mainly composed of rhamnose, arabinose, xylose, ribose, glucose and mannose, and with glucose and mannose primarily. The flash extraction, isolation, purification and its high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) of astragalus saponins was studied. The HPLC analysis of astragalus membranaceus with Astragaloside IV for standard product, showed that the content of Astragaloside IV between different astragalus samples has big difference. Gansu astragalus has the highest content(3.66 mg/g) and Black Qi of AA level from Shanxi Province has the lowest content (0.75 mg/g).The Astragalus flavonoid analysis with the colorimetric method, with rutin as a standard product, showed that Shanxi north Qi of asseled outfit has the supreme flavonoids content(0.95 mg/g), Shanxi black Qi of AA level has the minimum content(0.55 mg/g), and the flavonoids content of six other different astragalus materials has little differences. Calycosin separately glucoside, formononetin, calycosin, and ononin in the astragalus was separately analyzed with HPLC, and the results showed that Black Qi of AA level and Shanxi black Qi of A level has hign content of Calycosin separately glucoside and formononetin, the remaining six different astragalus raw materials has the similar content; Inner Mongolia north Qi of tasseled outfit and Inner Mongolia astragalus of supreme level has hign content of calycosin and ononin, the content of the rest astragalus raw materials has some differencens.
