Today, the conflict between rushing development of the world automobile industry and energy shortage has been growing up to be an outstanding condition. It is becoming important, in global world, to develop new energy and alternative fuel for automobiles to achieve sustainable development. In this paper, research on combustion and emission characteristics of diesel engine with biodiesel is proposed based on one of the research projects subjected to Natural Science Fund of Chongqing Education Commission, which studies on combustion and emission properties of biodiesel-diesel mixture in diesel engine.In this paper, after the fuel depot of biodiesel and ethanol are established the diesel engine model is constituted based on the simulation software GT-POWER. The combustion, power, economy and emission characteristics of diesel engine are analyzed and researched according on the comparison of the mixture burning simulation with that of the diesel. The main contents accomplished in this paper are following as:①Analyzing development of biodiesel at home and abroad, introducing raw materials for biodiesel producing and the manufacturing method of biodiesel briefly, and analyzing the physical & chemical properties.②Establishing fuel depot of biodiesel and ethanol with GT-POWER and selecting "Jet" predictable combustion model to verify the reliability of the model.③Researching and analyzing the characteristics of combustion, power, economy and emission of diesel engine with biodiesel-diesel mixture by dint of the diesel engine model.④Optimizing the biodiesel-diesel mixture and ensuring its best-mixture ratio to advancing characteristics of the power, economy and emission with consideration of influences resulted from the various speed and load while applying practically by uniformity design principles.⑤Analyzing the impacts from the diesel engine compression ratio and advanced-injection angel to biodiesel-diesel mixture, and proposing an optimization control scheme which aims to optimize characteristics of power, economy and emission of diesel.
