Guangxi's Participation In The Pan-pearl River Delta Regional Cooperation In Tourism Research

As the development of economic globalization and regional economic integration, regional economic cooperation has become the focus of widespread attention. Regional tourism cooperation also has become the inevitable choice of regional tourism. This paper discusses how Guangxi participates in the Pan-Pearl River Delta regional tourism cooperation. The thesis is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction, which includes the background and significance of the paper as well as comprehensive study on the regional tourism in home and on the Pan-PRD regional tourism cooperation. This paper will make significance to Guanxi on joining the regional tourism cooperation in the Pan-Pearl River Delta district cause there are few scholars put their attention in this field while they put a lot attention just on the regional tourism corporation and not Guangxi.The following are the main body of the paper:The first chapter presents the basic theory of Guangxi participating in the regional tourism cooperation in Pan-Pearl River Delta economic. By analysis the geographical division of labor theory, the regional economic co-dependent theory and the regional economic growth theory as well as considering the real condition of Guangxi, we have the ideal theoretical and practical basis for Guangxi participating in the tourismcorporation: First, in the PPRD region, not only Guangxi but also the other provinces are rich in tourism resources with different advantages, all the province could have the most greatest comparative advantage throughout separating and integrating the resources; Second, Guangxi and the other provinces in PPRD region are interdependent and interrelated with each other both in tourism resources and source markets; therefore they should cooperate with the protection of tourism resources and development and the establishment of a unified market, which result in reducing the duplication of attractions and unfair competition. Third, the development of the tourism in the region is not balanced, and the center city which is a "growth pole" will be able to play its linkage effect to boost the tourism development for the whole region. Therefore, Guangxi should strengthen its cooperation with the "growth pole" city.The second chapter analyzes Guangxi tourism industry based on the framework in the Pan-Pearl River Delta. First, it introduces the general conditions of Guangxi participating in the corporation; Second, it analyzes Guangxi tourism resources which famous for its amazing natural scenery, numerous classic red tourist attractions and national cultural resource; Third, it analyzes both the abroad and domestic market of the Guangxi tourism industry and finds that the main source markets are all in the Pan-PRD region, therefore, Guangxi should consolidate and expand its markets throughout the cooperation; Finally, it analyzes theproblems of Guangxi tourism enterprises such as poor operating efficiency, small scale and so on.Then chapter 3 analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of Guangxi tourism economics.Based on the previous there chapters, the third chapter proposed the ideas for Guangxi to join the regional tourism cooperation in Pan-Pearl River Delta district. First, Guangxi should strengthen its cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao whose tourism industry are the most developed one, use their "growth pole" effect to promote tourism in Guangxi. Secondly, build and improve the Non-obstacle Tourism Districts, which promote the Pan-PRD region to form a unified market and promote various factors of production and services' flowing; Third we should make sure that Guangxi and other provinces' tourism resources are developed in the way of integration to reduce duplication and unfair competition; Furthermore, since problems are existing in Guangxi's tourism enterprises, we should make recommendations to upgrade their management level to strengthen the competitiveness of the tourism industry; Finally, the government should change its role to promote the corporation.This paper mainly uses the method of literature analysis and empirical research. It tries to give some advice for Guanxi participating inthe tourism cooperation in Pan-Pearl River Delta by putting regional economic cooperation theory into tourism cooperation study.
