Road System Functions Under The Concept Of Sustainable Development

The sustainable development is the innovation of think over about human traditional development model. Today, the sustainable development has become the golden rule for countries to formulate economic development strategy. Road transportation plays a more and more important role in the comprehensive transportation for its technical and economic agility. The development of road transportation is closely related to the implementation of the sustainable development.China's road transportation has made great achievement, however, there are still many problems. According to the model of sustainable development , how to develop china's road transportation and improve its efficiency and benefit is a desiderational problem to solve. This paper points out there is direct relationship between these problems and the development strategy of the road transportation, there is great relationship between these problems and illogical position of road function and the system configuration . So the paper discusses the function of the road and the system, introduces the emergence and development of the sustainable development, analyses the development status of the road transportation , discusses the existing problems on function of the road transportation system , then puts forward the some methods and advice to optimize the road function under the sustainable development strategy.
