High temperature measurement technology has very important effect in aero engine's updating. It will help engine stylist and craftworker to realize every part's working speciality rightly and validate design parameters. Now in common used temperature measurement methods have thermal couple,infrared and temperature indicating paints etc. Thermal couple is able to disturb current and destroy test part. Infrared measurement has great infection owing to object emissivity, environment and fixing etc factors. To meet temperature measurement request of aero engine high temperature parts, now people studying all sorts of high temperature measurement technologies. Temperature indicating paints is used to measure engine high temperature parts surface temperature more and more by right of it's especial advantages for example non- disturb current , non-destroy test part and large area measurement.This paper summarizes study background, expands manufacture, spray technics, demarcation and validation test of temperature indicating paints, and analyzes some infection factors to temperature indicating paints changing color. Through a great deal of test, results indicate temperature indicating paints manufactured by China gas turbine establishment has very good application effect. It has accomplished a great deal of surface temperature measurement tasks. It will be applied wider in market through optimizing.
