As a new form of public opinion, public opinion on Internet has occupyed an import position in the network society, and have a significant impact on all aspects of social life and political life by a variety of ways. As one of the core issues of sovereignty, territorial disputes are always political issues which are more concerned by the ordinary people. Public opinion on Internet about territorial disputes is. gradually increasing when this issues are reflected on the network, This type of public opinion on Internet has not only its own characteristics, but also positive and negative effection for resolving the problem of territorial disputes itself.According to the study on public opinion on Internet and the status and the related reports of China's territorial disputes, this thesis analysed a variety of public opinion on Internet about territorial disputes and explored its manifestations and the deep roots why they appeared. It researched the positive and negative sense of public opinion on Internet on the territorial issue respectively and tried to put a reasonable response and suggestions. At the same time, I also discussed the element of nationalism which came from public opinion on Internet about territorial disputes and summarized its classification and characteristics. Because of the complexity of China's territorial issues, it is impossible that public opinion could play a decisive role in solving this problem. But I hope that it can draw people's attention to the territorial disputes by analyzing through communication theory, and the rational thinking can be return when it comes to public opinion on Internet about territorial disputes, and the civilian forces can provide useful and constructive help to solving the problem like this.
