The inplemention of 10G EPON ONU MAC is based on the IEEE standard 802.3 av.This paper first introduces the protocol of Media Access Control layer ,which will be the base of ONU LSW design, then focuses on the design,realization and simulation of ONU LSW.Top-down design method is used in this project.The primary function of LSW is divided into two blocks, upward data process,downward data process.Then each block is then sub-divided.At the end ,The result is verified by simulation.The top module has seven modules;they are downward getting buffer module,downward transmitting control module,upward getting buffer module,upward getting control module,VLAN mapping module,queue manage module and report module. The downward getting buffer module supplies caching for downward data. The downward transmitting control module focuses on format transforming of data and access route. The upward getting buffer module is in charge of access route and clock domain changing.The upward getting control module deals with packet filtering and additive of frame originating point information.The VLAN mapping module is used for Localization priority mapping.The queue manage module deals with the manage of framles which input and output queue.The report module maintains the queue length report.Verilog HDL is used for functioning description, Modelsim SE6.5a is used in waveform simulation.
