This paper conducted a research on the online group opinions during online group events. The whole research based on a typical online group event:"Deng Yujiao Case", who is from Badong County, Hubei Province. Quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis are used coordinately to give a detailed analysis on three aspects of the online public opinion:the formation process, the presentation pattern and the overall feature of it.The paper analyzed the contents of total 880 posts on Qiangguo Forum which related with "Deng Yujiao Case" during May 12th and June 16th to research the presentation pattern of the online public opinion. The data sample was sorted by time, in order to observe the different features of the online public opinions presented during different phases of the same event. The quantity and the detail level of the statistical sample are adequate, which owns reference value for further researches on the online public opinion subject.The paper analyzes the formation process, the presentation pattern and the overall feature of the online public opinion, combined with related theoretical research on the online group events, and finally summarized the positive side and hidden danger of the online public opinion. In order to avoid the hidden danger of "online group extremism" and "online opinion violence", a solution is raised via guidance of the main stream online media, traditional media and the government publicity. The solution is highly practical.
