Presently, China's law-related programs have shown more diverse formats, creating increasing influence in the society and being broadcast nationwide. Hence, law-related TV programs carry important social responsibilities. This article discusses the public interests that the law-related TV programs should have. Through the discussion, this article explicates the public nature of media, arguing that the public interests are where the media should focus on. This article has four parts. Part II and III point out the problems that China's law-related programs have currently exposed and analyze the reasons as well as outline possible ways to solve these problems. With these ideas, the article provides a new outlook to reforms that should be conducted to make China's law-related TV programs better represent the public interests.
