Synthetic Aperture Radar works in microwave band; it has been evolved to satisfy a variety of applications for both military and civilian with its high resolution capability and possibility of day and night operation in all weather. First of all, the principle and algorithm of SAR imaging is introduced. Then, with the Displaced Phase Center Antenna and Along-Track Interferometry technique, researches on ground moving target detection is also made.This dissertation also makes an in-depth study on Spaceborne Ocean Radar Altimeter which can monitor the ocean in all-weather conditions round the clock. It can provide the sea level height, significant wave height and backscatter coefficient of the ocean, which make it the most effective sensor of researching the marine environment dynamics and all kinds of seabed structure division. Considering conventional radar altimeter can only measure sea surface height under the satellite, this new altimeter applies the Cross-Track InSAR technique to measure the height of wide swath ocean and proposes a research program of new wide swath ocean radar altimeter which not only can satisfy the requirements of high accuracy range measurement but also has the advantage of wide swaths.Finally, due to the traditional radar system must meet the Nyquist sampling theory, a constraint of high sampling rate, we analysis a low speed sampling radar imaging based on compressed sensing. Compressed sensing radar is a new technique which combines with the traditional radar via compressed sensing; its mission is target detection and imaging which over lap with the traditional radar system. In compressed sensing, a low-dimensional, non-adaptive, linear projection is used to acquire an efficient representation of a compressible signal directly using just a few measurements, so that it can reduce the requirements of hardware. Therefore, it can help to solve the problems of power, size, weight, reliability and cost which can be seen as an upgrade and supplement of the traditional radar.
