With the development of computer and image processing technology, the automatic inspection technology based on image processing has been applied in many fields, such as military, medical equipment and industrial automation, etc. The automatic detection of nontransparent impurities of bottled liquid in production line has been an important direction in automatic inspection. Compared with conventional automatic inspection in nontransparent impurities, the advantages of image processing are non invasive, capable of quickly inspecting, and laborsaving.Firstly, the proposal of detection of nontransparent impurities of bottled liquid in production line under laser illumination is initially put forward in this dissertation. The principle and parameters of the semiconductor laser, laser beam expander and CCD used in the project are analyzed.Based on the concepts, theories, and methods of image processing technique, Especially, the image template match, image edge detection, image dilation, image erosion and image contour extraction are mainly studied.Under laser illumination, the image features of nontransparent impurities of bottled liquid are analyzed and the nontransparent impurities are detected with image edge detection, image expansion, image corrosion, image contour extraction and contour following arithmetic. This dissertation constructs the system of detection of nontransparent impurities of bottled liquid in production line under laser illumination. By the use of the CCD of MVC1000M's SDK library and its secondary development and the software development platform Visual Studio.Net, the software system of detection of nontransparent impurities of bottled liquid in production line has been programmed. The test results of the system are as follows. When the impurities are at the bottom of bottled liquid, the system could detect impurities with diameter of 0.5 millimeter; when the impurities are between the bottom and top of bottled liquid, the system could detect impurities with diameter of 0.1 millimeter; when the impurities are at the top of bottled liquid, the system could detect impurities with diameter of 0.4 millimeter. The proposal scattered laser bean to light inner bottle this paper proposed has definite innovation. The works are essential for further researches on detection of nontransparent impurities in the bottled liquid.
