As an entire part of the socio-economics operation,the financial news reports construct the nervous system of the society.The study of the financial discourse has always been a weak link circle in the language academic.In the 90's of the last century,conceptual metaphor theory has been led into homeland and being permeated with other subjects gradually.Accordingly,the linguistics study of financial discourse has a new visual angle.The theories and behaviors in the financial field are very comparatively strange to the general audiences.The extensive use of conceptual metaphor in financial discourse not only can describe the operation and development of the economy vividly,but also can help the audience to understand the financial knowledge conveniently.Conceptual metaphor theory is based on the metaphor theory,and the relation between language and culture is an important argument for the formation of conceptual metaphor.At present,the research results of conceptual metaphor are very rich in language academic,in which the cognitive psychology,producing mechanism and the relation with culture are mainly discussed.But the study results of conceptual metaphor based on financial discourse are very rare.Conceptual metaphor which has become an important means to understand and express the world exists everywhere,not only in our language,but also in our thoughts and actions.As a result,the systematic study of the conceptual metaphor in the financial discourse has a dual significance in the theory and the reality.This paper has defined and explained the conceptual metaphor on the basis of predecessor's research.Based on the rich financial discourse,the first part of this paper tries to classify conceptual metaphor into structural metaphor,orientation metaphor and body metaphor. Meanwhile,this part has listed the specific forms of the conceptual metaphor in detail. Conceptual metaphor applying to financial discourse has the distinct character.From many conceptual metaphors existing in a financial report,extensive use of conceptual metaphor with Chinese culture character,human-source video being the largest share,eating-source metaphor being a large number,the paper tries to comment the characteristics of conceptual metaphor in the financial discourse.Theories are built for application.This paper is emphasized from contributing to the promotion of certain cultural phenomenon,affecting English finance news translation,affecting working out and carrying out economic policy,inspiration in culture teaching and inspiration in inter-exchange cross culture and cross countries.From the above five areas,this paper expounds the conceptual metaphor's society functions.This paper takes conceptual metaphor in the financial discourse as study object,combination of cognitive linguistics,pragmatics,schema structure,the forefront academic theory in the language.To a certain extent,it will enable the paper more targeted.In the article,the research in this subject is based on audience's point,so it has a strong practical significance.Further,it can provide financial workers valuable reference for discussion-making.At the same time,we can't ignore the theoretical value of this article.The study of this subject is able to provide new perspective and new idea for linguistics research of financial discourse,and then enhance its theoretical height.As a new subject,the research of conceptual metaphor in financial discourse remains to be explored further in many respects.Unfortunately,the author has little talent and less learning,so what the author do hope is trying her best to do something for the whole study of this subject.
