Transmitter is the equipment that transmits electromagnetic signal. It determines the performance of the electronic equipments, and plays an important role in our lives. With the development of modern military, national defence and wireless communication, many electronic systems such as mobile communication, radars and guided weapons set increasingly higher requirements on the performance of transmitters. Modern communication system lays particular emphasis on highly pure spectrum and linearity of transmitters. This project is exactly based on the research and realization of the frequency modulation(FM) heterodyne transmitter. The FM signal is converted to intermediate frequcency(IF) signal after six frequency multiplication. Then the IF signal is up-converted to the radio frequency(RF) signal by way of being mixed with the local oscillator(LO) . The driving amplifier enlarges the RF signal to an adaptive level in order to drive the power amplifier. Finally, the RF signal enlarged by the power amplifier is delivered to a SAW filter and transmitted through an antenna. In this paper, the structure of the wireless transmitter is introduced at first. Subsequently, the designs of several key modules such as broad-band amplifier, frequency synthesizer, double-balanced mixer and hairpin-line filter of the transmitter are introduced. Finally, the testing results of the key modules and system are given in the paper.
