With the rapid development of computer technology, textile CAD as a modern computer-aided design tools are now widely used in fabric designs by lots of textile enterprises at home and abroad, it accelerated the devlopment of products and increased the market competitiveness. The technology of image deformation is one of the most important application in the fabric image design, as we can obtain some satisfactory results by the way of deforming the source image conveniently. Use the technology of fabric image deformation in the fabric design, we can greatly reduce the intensity of the work, and raise the production efficiency. The key points of the image deformation lie in two points, one is the rearrangement of the positions of the pixels, another is the reassignment of the value of the pixels. In this paper, for the characteristics and needs of the design of fabric image, we optimized the traditional image deformation algorithm, and presented some effective image deformation algorithm which are applicable to the fabric image design, for example, deform the square images into round ones or polygon ones, deform the rectangle images into fan-shaped ones and path-based ones. At the same time, the application of space-variable linear interpolation and the virtual enlarge technology make the the results much more better. This paper also introduced the backgroud and status of the image deformation, and the concept of image geometric comuting which is the basis of the image deformation. At the same time, the deformation algorithms are implemented in Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 programming environment, and the deformation results are good. In the part of summing up and prospects, we point out the deficiencies of the algorithm, and the develop direction is proposed.
