Traditional analog CRT television sets have been developed for many years, until a few years ago are still in a monopoly position, almost every household has analog CRT TV. However, in recent years, due to the large-scale development of high-speed digital integrated circuits, television in general joined a digital video signal processors, making the beginning of analog television to digital direction. Digital television sets have a better ability to receive any higher-definition video formats, such as SD, HD, VGA format and so on the video signal.This paper describes the working theory and design of an image processing chip (referred to as this article IMPX) which application in digital television. First describes the core video scaling algorithm of the principle of multi-phase filter, and then spoke about image processing Chip modules, the working principle, identified IMPX the overall structure and logic of the module design; for the establishment of a variety of test pattern, use the MODELSIM for the simulation, use FPGA for real-time system-level verification, On the base of the right to verification, then taeout the chip; through the chip test, the parameters meet the design requirements. The chip wined in Sichuan Changhong TV companies put into mass production.
