"Image processing supersedes artillery firing" system, is a training system using image interpretation replaces artillery firing of self-propelled anti-tank guns aimed at their own field. It mainly consists of image incepted subsystem of tracking and aiming, data collection and preservation subsystem and image processing and evaluation subsystem. This paper is mostly charged for design and development of the software module of image processing and evaluation. The module mainly includes the target recognition and image processing and correlative calculation.In target recognition, do a simple analysis of the key factors of the image matching technology based on gray image. Make a comparative analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of MAD,SSDA,MPSA algorithm etc. Finally, based on the template edge detection and monotonous sequence of decreasing threshold SSDA algorithms has been adopted to identify the target and made on relatively good results in matching pace.In image processing, firstly, use MATLAB to commonly used threshold segmentation algorithm simulation. The simulation results show that algorithm of the global threshold achieves a better effect of target segmentation, however, there are still some noise,burr and cracks in the matching within the region. Then, make use of the morphology to optimize those images and obtain a relatively good treatment effect. Finally, calculate the geometric center coordinates of the target by theory of the moment. Provide a reliable data to assess the operational skills of operators.Image processing and evaluation module has been achieved by C++ programming language in the Windows XP operating system. Experiments show that the module can accurately distinguish the two processes between the set target and firing instructions and rapidly identify the target and make correlative processing and segmentation as well as analyze and evaluate operator-fire level. Basic function of the system has been achieved.
