Since 1980s, linear CCD camera has been widely applied in the remote fields of aviation and satellite. As the international scholars have largely researched the method of image geometric correction in those fields, the technology of remote image geometric correction is getting better and better. However, the research of geometric correction of image from vehicular linear CCD push-scan road surface is little all the while. This paper demonstrated the method of geometric correction of image from vehicular linear CCD based on the characteristics of Vehicular 3D Collection system.The systems of photographic survey based on vehicular linear CCD and remote linear CCD in the fields of aviation and satellite are great similar, but their system structure and principle of work also have the very big difference, Specially they have each characteristic respectively in camera calibration and the aspect of image geometrical correction. The primary contents of this paper are discussed as follows paper:1) Many methods of image geometrical correction in the remote fields of aviation and satellite have been studied, and then the characteristics of vehicular 3D Collection system have been introduced.2) This paper described principle vehicular CCD get road image by IMU/DGPS integrated navigation system emphatically. After having studied mechanism of vehicular linear CCD sensor, we established photography mathematical model of linear CCD sensor with characteristic of vehicular linear CCD.3) Through studying method of calibrating the area array CCD camera exterior parameter, we worked out that method of calibrating the vehicular linear CCD camera exterior parameter. Especially, we analyzed reason why exist errors by using two-step calibration method, and suggested that the calibration lines should be added to improve the calibration accuracy and how the Characteristic lines have been extracted in the calibration image.4) Then, this paper analyzed various major factors which caused geometric distortions of image from vehicular linear CCD push-scan road surface, and then discussed the method of geometric correction for vehicular linear CCD push-scan image based on camera location and pose data provided by GPS/IMU integrated navigation system. 5) Finally we used VC language to implement simulation algorithms, and have gotten an idealresult.
