The W-band coherent Doppler radar has high precision. It is widely used in speed measuring. The radar front-end, which determines performance of the radar, is very important in radar system. In this dissertation, the researches on the scheme of W-band coherent Doppler radar front-end, W-band coherent frequency synthesizers and W-band superheterodyne receiver are done. It is the aim of those to develop radar front-end. Finally, the radar front-end overall test is carried on, and the introduction about the velocity radar system is given.The research on the scheme of W-band coherent Doppler radar front-end is mainly about indicator of distribution and component chosen in radar front-end. After comparison of the advantage and disadvantage in several schemes and proposition of the methods remedying the disadvantages in some schemes, the final scheme is proposed.The research on W-band coherent frequency synthesizers is mainly about scheme chosen, development and test of the components, which constitute coherent frequency synthesizers. The performance test of W-band coherent frequency synthesizers is shown at last.The research on W-band superheterodyne receiver is mainly about the W-band mixer technology and the low noise amplifier technology. After the analysis of different structures, the better one is chosen. The method on filter simulation is summarized to speed up simulation.In short, in this dissertation the researches include Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS), Phase Locked Dielectric Resonator Oscillator (PLDRO), mixer, multiplier, low noise amplifier (LNA), filter and so on. In this dissertation, those technologies are studied in detail and successfully applied, which might be helpful to further application of Doppler radar front-end and microwave/millimeter-wave circuit design.
