This paper presents several microstrip-to-waveguide transitions technologies and compare each technology.According to project needs,choose E-plane probe and H-plane probe transition technology to design microstrip-to-waveguide transitions.The transitions have low insertion loss and broad bandwidth.Full K-band and full Ka-band microstrip-to-waveguide transitions have been Designed,using E-plane probe and H-palne probe transition technology.Based on impedance matching principle,using HFSS software,the optimized design date sunch as the probe dimensions the distance of waveguide backshort from the probe,and the structure of shielding cavity,are presented.The simulate show that the insertion loss is about 0.08 to 0.12 dB.Becase the variety of insertion loss in full Ka-band is big.A improvement configuration is design and The simulate show that the performance is improve.
