The radio frequency(RF)front-end is the key technologies of modern communication systems,such as the global system for mobile communications(GSM)and the global positioning system(GPS).Power divider is an important component of the RF front-end.The dissertation focuses on the investigation of the Wilkinson power dividers and the dual-band Wilkinson power dividers operating at two arbitrary different frequencies.It is outlined as follows:(1)Based on the even-odd mode analysis,Wilkinson power divider is improved designed,which can reduce the coupling of two branches and improve the design accuracy and circuit performance.Applying the software ADS,the Wilkinson power divider operating at 14 GHz is simulated,the simulated results show that it can satisfy the item requirements.(2)Using the open-circuit stubs instead of the lumped capacitances and lumped inductances paralleling at output ports of two-section impedance transformers,the dual-band microstrip Wilkinson power divider operating at 2.0 GHz and 4.2 GHz is designed and developed.Measured results show that the isolation is more than 25 dB and the transmission coefficient is less than 3.8 dB in the bandwidth of 200 MHz at the two operating frequencies.(3)Applying the two-section transmission-line for impedance transforming and connecting two different shunt resistors in two sections to improve its bandwidth and isolation,the dual-band Wilkinson power divider operating at 1.0 GHz and 2.8 GHz is designed and developed.Measured results show that its isolation is more than 25 dB and the transmission coefficient is less than 3.4 dB in the bandwidth of 400 MHz at the two operating frequencies.
