In this thesis, LTCC filters have been designed with space mapping algorithms, which is a foundational work in the application field of designing the LTCC passive elements with space mapping algorithms.Firstly, the multilayers interconnect structures have been analyzed. The transmission and reflection characteristics of these interconnect structures would be influenced by the diameters of round pad and square pad in each structure, stripline width and the diameter of via. The cause about this influence has been analyzed with the plenty of simulation responses and the microwave theory. In the LTCC capacitors, because MVI(multilayer vertically interdigitated) capacitor is propitious to reduce the capacitor dimension, a symmetrical structure of LTCC multilayer capacitor, based on MVI capacitor, has been improved, and its coarse model has been proposed. The design parameters have been optimized with original space mapping (OSM). The characteristics of four kinds LTCC inductances have also been described.Based on LTCC capacitance and inductance, an improved symmetrical structure of LTCC multilayer filter with one transmission zero has been proposed. Optimization parameters of 1.7-2.0GHz and 2.4-2.6GHz LTCC filters have been obtained in the iterative optimization process between fine model and coarse model, which has been established from multilayer element kit in the ADS software. In the LTCC filters design process, the optimization in the electromagnetic model has been canceled, and the design efficiency has been improved.Finaly, PCB multilayers filters with the same symmetrical framework of LTCC multilayers filters have been designed and manufactured, and design targets have been satisfied though testing. LTCC filters simulation responses have been validated by the consistency between PCB multilayers filters test and simulation responses, and the validity of optimization theory about space mapping algorithms has also been validated.
