Broadband amplifier is necessary for modern wireless communication systems and plays a critical role increasingly, even the whole communication system will be affected by its performance.This subject aims at designing a series of broadband and medium power solid state amplifier which work in 2~4GHz,4~6 GHz frequency range , using packaged GaAs MMIC and HMIC technology ,power combination technology , basing on analyzing and searching broadband matching technology . The series of solid state power amplifiers have good performances: broad band, high gain, medium power.Theoretically, after analyzing several kinds of plane-type power splitting or combining structures'advantages and disadvantages, a multilevel binary combing network based on 3-dB Wilkinson bridge is successfully designed to produce enough output power. In addition, the design of the network is optimized by EDA software and the final test result indicates that the scheme is successful.The principle of microwave amplifier is introduced at first in this paper, especially its main parameters index sign, then the principle of broadband matching technology is discussed, Subsequently analyzing the power combing technology. Then the main methods of realization are discussed. At last,the scheme of subject,the functional realization of each module,some questions which must be pay much attention in the system design, and the ultimate testing result of this subject is represented and analyzed in detail.
