In this thesis, the L-band phase shifter is investigated, which has significantly potential application in microwave measure. After the analysis of some structures commonly used in dielectric phase shifter, a new structure named analogue regulable dielectric phase shifter. It is comprised of a Square Coaxial Line with Round Center Conductor and a dielectric piece which is good matched. Make use of high-frequency electromagnetic software HFSS to design, simulate and optimize the phase shifter. Various factors are considered in influencing the VSWR, the insertion loss and the phase shift of the phase shifter. Some effective measures are put forward to improve its performance. Find the appropriate process technics of whole apparatus, and fabricate it and test it well. The results are as follows:1,Find out some flaws of the dielectric phase shifter that has already been designed, and bring forward a few effective ways to improve it.2,Simulate and validate the advanced phase shifter to study the rule that the structure parameter how to affect the capability of the whole device by HFSS. Optimize the design of the phase shifter.3,Compare test results of the device and analyze the reason which produces the error. Paying attention to some questions that may be introduced while testing.
