Bistatic Synthetic Aperture Radar is a new concept in radar community.For its bistatic characteristic of dividing the receiver and transformstation,the bistatic SAR has many advantages.For these advantages,it has become a significant imaging technique in both military and civil fields and is receiving considerable attention recently. Moreover,squint mode could extend the bistatic SAR's working flexibility and obtain more plenty information.Focusing on the imaging theories of bistatic squint mode SAR, the main work of this thesis is shown as follows:1.The geometry model of the bistatic translational invariant squint SAR (BTIS-SAR) are presented.Based on the geometry model,range history and Doppler properties of the bistatic translational invariant squint SAR are presented and the resolution properties are also given.2.The signal model of bistatic translational invariant squint SAR is presented and based on this signal model,one method of processing the bistatic squint SAR signal as the monostatic suqint SAR signal is proposed.The error of the method is analyzed and the range curve and range walk of bistatic large suqint angle SAR is analyzed as well.3.An imaging algorithm named Chirp Scaling Algorithm(CSA) which considers the translational variant situation is proposed.Making use of the method of processing the bistatic squint SAR signal as the monostatic suqint SAR signal,the CSA is modified. The theory and error of CSA are analyzed in detailbased on the Loffeld model for bistatic SAR 2D spectrum.The essential step of Stolt mapping is analyzed in detail.The image quality of this modified CSA is simulated under different flight mode and squint angle and the simulation results prove that the quality of images focused by the modified CSA is much better than that of the Classic CSA in the case of translational variant In addition,the algorithm is exerted to focus a real bistatic SAR data set successfully.
