With the about 20-year development of CCTV talk show, it has already been a popular entertainment program. The thesis finds wider application in CCTV talk show with theories of conversation analysis and discovers research findings upon them, conversational sequence and switching of discourse role in TV talk show in particular. The data used in the thesis are drawn from a few popular CCTV talk show programs. Three-part exchange and categories of discourse role are used as the basic organizational units. In addition, the research is closely connected with the news coverage theory. In the chapter of conversational sequence, the study reveals that the conversation between the host and the guest or the audience follows the sequence of I-R-F (initiation move, response move and follow-up move). What's more, the host controls the rhythm of conversation by controlling the initiation move.In the research of discourse role switching, through Goffman's and Thomas's theories of classification, according to the features of TV talk show, the thesis summarizes the categories of discourse role: speaker and addressee. Moreover, on the basis of the responsibilities speakers assume for utterance messages, the speaker is classified into three categories: SFR (speaker full responsibility), SPR (speaker part responsibility) and SNR (speaker no responsibility); in the meanwhile, the addressee, in the light of the right to answer, is also classified into three categories: actual addressee, auditor and audience. From two aspects of dynamic and static states of conversation analysis, the thesis breaks the limitations of static research for better understanding, appreciation, description and interpretation of TV talk show; for improving the audience' participation of TV talk show as well as providing TV talk show producer and host with the theory.
