Since variance-constrained control theory was proposed by Skelton and his colleaguesfrom Purdue university in the 1980s, it has attracted many researchers'interests and simulta-neously made great success in practical implementation. According to our knowledge, mostresults for variance-constrained control are achieved for system without time-delay. Andtime-delay wildly exists in the real systems. So it is very meaningful to address varianceconstrained control problems for time-delay systems. In this thesis, all studied system in-corporate time-delay. Additionally, they may feature coefficient uncertainties, Markovianjumping parameter, non-linearity and so on. The following subjects will be studied in thisdissertation:1. Robust variance-constrained control for linear continuous time-delay system with pa-rameter uncertainties is studied. The delay-independent sufficient condition that guar-antee the system to meet the variance-constraint is obtained. Based on it, linear matrixinequality(LMI)technology is adopted to obtain controller.2. Variance-constrained control for linear continuous time-delay system is studied.Thedelay-dependent sufficient condition that guarantee the system to meet the variance-constraint is obtained. Based on it, linear matrix inequality(LMI)technology isadopted to obtain controller. controller.3. Robust variance-constrained control for linear discrete time-delay system with param-eter uncertainties is studied. The delay-independent sufficient condition that guaran-tee the system to meet the variance-constraint is obtained. Based on it, linear matrixinequality(LMI)technology is adopted to obtain controller.4. Variance-constrained control for linear discrete delay-delay system is studied. Thetime-dependent sufficient condition that guarantee the system to meet the variance-constraint is obtained. Based on it, linear matrix inequality(LMI)technology isadopted to obtain controller. 5. Robust variance-constrained control for linear discrete time-delay system with pa-rameter uncertainties and Markovian jumping parameters is studied. The delay-independent sufficient condition that guarantee the system to meet the variance-constraint is obtained. Based on it, linear matrix inequality(LMI)technology isadopted to obtain controller.6. Variance-constrained control for a class of non-linear continuous time-delay sys-tem is studied. The delay-independent sufficient condition that guarantee thesystem to meet the variance-constraint is obtained. Based on it, linear matrixinequality(LMI)technology is adopted to obtain controller.
