Internet media is changing with dynamic paces as the development of societyand technology. As a new media, its way of communication deserves featuring.Nowadays, China is in the process of change with significant political, economic andliving transition, which contributes to the intensification of the social conflicts andproblems. As an integral part of media, the internet media is bonded to takeresponsibility of enhancing the social integrity and settling the social issues. The roleof internet media's in society is what we should deliberate.This paper has four sections: the first section is introduction, which gives a briefintroduction of progress of internet media and connection between internet media andsocial issues; the second section is to study how the traditional media cover the socialissues; the third section focuses on the quality of internet media and the particular wayin which the internet media cover the social issue; the forth section investigate the partthe internet media plays in the mitigation of social problems.
