The optical transport network that supplies all kinds of telecom business networks with transportable passageway and protection for the transportable passageway is the most important base network of the modern communication. The management of the optical transport network is the important component of the network management.With the expansion of telecommunications network, telecommuications network becomes more and more complicated and diversified. So it has become harder to adapt to the new change in efficiency and capacity if we only depend on EMS to mange the optical transport network.The optical transport integrated NMS locates at the net management layer, which is designed and developmented based on TMN and can centralized manage the EML management systems. The high efficiently management of network resources is the base of the management of the optical transport integrated net management system. The paper introduces how to manage the resources of the NMS.This paper firstly introduces the present situation and development tendency of the network management of optical transmission, and related technology such as TMN, SDH and ASN.1. Then it describes the framework of the optical transport integrated NMS and its subsystems. Finally, the paper describes the design of resource management module and the scheme of resource consistency of optical transport integrated NMS. In the design of resource management module, the paper firstly describes the resource model and its object-oriented design, and then describes the main function of the resource management module and the framework of all subsystems, and finally describes the procedures of main functions and communication method of subsystems in detail. In the design of the scheme of resource consistency, the paper firstly describes its main function, implementation method, and then illustrates the design of data auto-update function, including multi-GUI and NMS-EMS. And the paper finally describes the main interfaces.The design method of the management of the resource objects in this paper nicely meets the requirement of the optical transport integrated NMS. The paper not only describes the base management of the resource objects, but also illustrates how to keep the data consistency of NMS by data-modify table and locked strategy. Besides, the paper introduces the application of design patterns and socket communication with actual examples.
