This paper presented the introduction about the history of edge guide modeisolator's development together with the description on the characteristic of functionand applying advantages of this kind of component. According to the requirement ofengineering applying and the model of co-oscillated absorption edge guide modemicros-trip isolator which we chose as the basis of designing of component, weaccomplished the analysis of working mode in component and acquired the solution ofthe instinct formula of the distribution of electric-magnetic field, indeed, we acquiredthe basic designing parameters. Making use of professional microwave designingsoftware, we accomplished the designing of bias-magnetic field, designing ofbroadband matching of component and the designing of broadband transfer used incomponent's measurement; By the research on process technique and the method ofdrop-iron, we accomplished the development of ferrite sample which met therequirement of component's designing; By the research on process technique ofiron-spattering, we enhanced the attaching capability and the accuracy of fabrication ofmicro-strip metal film. On the basis of all of these achievements, we accomplished thedevelopment of edge guide mode miniaturized micro-strip isolator which worked onfrequency range of 6~18GHz and met the requirement of engineering. In addition, weestablished a integrated technological system of development of edge guide modemicro-strip isolator which included component designing technology, fabricatingprocess technique, component measuring technology.The component developed in this project achieved main typical technologicalcharacter as follows: working frequency covered 6~18GHz, isolation bigger than 15dB,transmitting loss less than 1.0dB, VSWR less than 1.5, the size of outline is12mm×16mm×6mm(max).
