Radio frequency imaging simulation system is used to test the performance of missile-borne synthetic aperture radar seekers. As one imaging type of seekers, missile-borne synthetic aperture radar seekers are not similar to classical seekers; SAR seekers realize vision match terminal guidance with two dimensional high resolution processing of range direction and azimuth direction. With the appearance of SAR vision match terminal guidance technology, this paper investigated the radio frequency simulation of SAR seekers in the lab. And the simulated images using the imaging algorithms are obtained, and then the images are judged with some image indices. This paper firstly discusses radio frequency imaging simulation system structure based on radio frequency simulation system and proposes the whole paper structure. And then this paper analyses imaging fundamental theory, its echo signal and geometry model of missile-borne synthetic aperture radar. subsequently the target simulation analysis of radar imaging is put up in the radio frequency simulation lab, and one simulation modeling of the distributed target scattering characteristic is investigated, and the concrete algorithm of distributed target simulation. In succession, the development and realization of imaging simulation system is carried through, and three imaging algorithms are discussed as follows: Range-Doppler algorithm(RDA), Chirp Scaling algorithm(CSA) and Doppler beam sharpening imaging algorithm(DBS),and then the images using those imaging algorithms are estimated versus the figure of the simulated images. Hereinto, one new evaluation index is proposed, being expansion coefficient. Lastly this paper works over the system calibration and motion compensation of the imaging simulation system, processes the system calibration from the aspect of target simulation, and debates the imaging effect from the aspect of imaging algorithm and irregular movement.
