With the technologies of computer control, network communication, database and so on, the operation of elevator can be monitored and administered in a long distance. Thus, the ability to analyze the breakdown and the efficiency of operation and maintenance of elevator can be enhanced. Based on the basic theory of TMN and the standardized mode building method, the author builds a simple management mode of the whole system. He combines the technology of network and multimedia and designs the remote elevator monitor system. The system is versatile, multi-functional and of low cost. It gains a lot of profits.This essay first discusses the background and current development of the remote elevator monitor system. It puts forward the idea of developing the system and the related technologies to realize the idea. Then according to the definition standards of management object of GDMO system, it carries out systematic research on the mode of the system. It enhances the expansibility and maintenance of the remote elevator monitor system. Next, it discusses the function and the general design of the system as well as the design and realization of each functional mode. It specifically introduces two functions, respectively monitoring the elevator data and controlling the elevator. It sets up a uniform protocol and pattern of communication. Thus, the following software of this kind can be based on it. At last, the author draws a conclusion and looks into the future development and improvement of the system.
