Compared with the old optical transmission network, Automatically Switched Optical Network (ASON) is more reliable, flexible and efficient.It can Offer dynamic configuration for network. It improves the efficiency of network and the ability of rapid protection ang restoration, and it supports business needs of different levels of service ,and it can automatically discover network resources and better meet IP transmission.ASON currently represents the new direction of optical transmission network development, the telecommunications operators will apply ASON on the network on a larger scale in recent years . The author works on the optical communications network planning and designning for many years. According to status of the current optical transmission network, this paper analysis The key to ASON technologies and ASON's applications on the transmission network, gives the current building strategy of ASON, and completes the programme design of ASON works for JiNing mobile.This paper will offer better information and guidance for building of ASON. This paper is composed by four primary parts:In chapter I,Author introduces the origin of ASON and three international communications organizations ITU-T,IETF and OIF, and introduces the standardization progress, analysies the advantages of ASON ,and points out the aim and significance of this paperat last.In chapter II ,Author describes the overall framework for ASON. ASON network is composed by Transmission Plane, Control Plane , Management Plane and Data Communications Network.Author analysies the structure and function of Control Plane, and compares two kinds of model for structure of Control Plane—Overlay model and Peer model.Then author focuses on the protocols of Signalling, Routing and Link Resource Management,and gives research for the protection and restoration technologies of ASON.In chapter III, Author introduces the applications of ASON technology at home and abroad. Aiming at status of domestic optical transmission network, Author gives the ASON building strategy and notes the selections about technologies and equipments...
