Based On Three-tier Structure Of The Shandong Provincial Hospital Patient Management Information System

Today, Information Technology has been an important part of society and an important factor that affects sustainable development of all industries. Healthcare faces this challenge too. Computer, network and database are essential conditions for building modern hospitals. Through constructing and using of Hospital Information System(HIS), hospital management, work efficiency and healthcare quality can be greatly improved.Shandong Province Hospital is a large polyclinic. Constructing of HIS for such type of hospital will cover and affect all key points of hospital management facilities and patient treatment. All information will be stored, processed and managed by the system and reach the goal that hospital information is collected separately, managed uniformly, used integratedly and shared to all kinds of customers.Using object-oriented technology to analyse and design is a main method of current software development. It is of advantage to serialization and modulization of software products by using 00 technology and UML in the real time control process of software development to realize standardization and engineering of software development and management., which makes the system upgrade, the functional extension and the maintenance convenient.This paper focuses on the development background and necessity of the hospital information system, which is designed and implemented using 00 technology. The system is analyzed and designed with UML and Rational Rose , implemented with Powerbuilder8.0 and the back-end storage is Oracle9i. We make a comprehensive investigation and analysis on the demands of the information and the business processes of all hospital departments. Based on the results of the investigation and analysis, a sub-system model is built up reasonably, on the base of which the whole system is constructed. The design model of the HIS is built up in the design process, which is a tri-tire C/S/S architecture.
