Satellite Mobile communications has an irreplaceable role in military communication, emergency communications and Communications in outlands. It is expensive to experiment on hired real satellite link in formulating satellite communications system and researching transceiver. Satellite channel simulator can simulate transmission characteristics of electromagnetic wave close to real channel environment. The satellite communications project group of University of Electronic Science and Technology had born the project from Chinese Academy of Sciences on basis of the previous version of satellite channel simulator. The project is called satellite communications simulator and more advanced channel model is adopted. Now, it had been put to use after been redesigned.The transmission mechanism of electromagnetic wave in satellite communications is very complex. The author uses the statistical model that can delineate real satellite channel transmission characteristics better as the simulator's rational, i.e. LMS(Land Mobile Sattilite) model. The author considered great numbers of transmission characteristics of real channel in LMS model and properly simplified it according to requirement in the project. The key characteristics in the model include multi-path fading, shadow fading, Doppler shift, propagation noise, multi-path delay and and state transform of three status homogeneous Markov chain described by LMS model, etc. The key characteristics of channel are properly collocated and made to be the evidence theory of hardware implementation.The main content of this dissertation are as follows:1.The author analyses the key channel characteristics described by LMS model.
