With the development of computer technology, embedded-system application is becoming more and more popular and covering from daily life to industry area. While there are some problems in development of embedded-system, the traditional development method reduces the efficient of development. Due to the dependency of the real target board in debugging application, the realization of hardware has been the bottle-neck of the whole system development. At present, there are few excellent IDE which integrates all kinds of development tools. Simulation development platform is an express, high efficient, and low cost tools which used to support embedded-system development, and it has more significance for raise developing efficient and quality. Nevertheless, it is always a difficult problem that how to construct the platform in order to support wide hardware platform and integrate existing mature assist development tools and software. This dissertation makes great efforts to do in-depth research work focusing on the theory of software architecture to solve the problem.In the process of developing modern large and comprehensive software system, how to choice and construct agreeable software architecture becomes a very important factor in the design phase. Well-designed software architecture is the key of success of the realization of the system. This dissertation elaborates the theory and magnification of software architecture, clarifies the conception and composition of software architecture, and introduces related technology. Then plug-in architecture is analyzed in detail.Plug-in architecture is an advanced software architecture design style now. Its agile integration mechanism and perfect extendable feature get more and more focus and is used widely as the day goes. The theory of plug-in architecture is studied and analyzed in details, as well the architecture and realization mechanism of Eclipse which is an excellent platform based on plug-in architecture.The general demand of the simulation development platform for embedded system is analyzed, and an integrated framework for simulation development platform based on Eclipse is presented.
