Analog temperature compensation crystal oscillator (ATCXO) is widely used in electronic equipments such as communications, navigation, radar, mobile telephone, program control telephone, measure instruments etc. As their reference frequency source, it is critical part of the above equipments, called as their"heart".The keys of improving the ATCXO temperature frequency characteristic are appropriately choosing compensation network and optimization calculation the network parameter. The core problem of ATCXO design is how to calculate the parameter. Optimizing the algorithms of the compensation network can enhance the certified rate and the frequency stability.Now the common algorithm which is used to calculate the parameter of the compensation network is the method of least squares which can calculate the result to make the least square sum of frequency deviation least . However we want to get the least absolute value of frequency deviation not the least square sum of it. The best approximations algorithm is just the method which can solve the mini-max solution of the least value of frequency deviation. Because of the reason above, in this paper the best approximations algorithm is introduced into calculating the parameters of ATCXO compensation network for the first time.The experiment data are got by temperature experiment to validate the practicability and superiority of the best approximations algorithm. After getting the experiment data, the resistance value and the deviation value of compensation voltage can be calculated by the two algorithms which can be realized by VB program language and math software such as MATLAB and MAPLE. In practical calculating results, Comparing with the method of least squares, the compensation precision can be improved about 10% when using the best approximations algorithm. In the theoretical calculation, the best approximations algorithm shows its practicability and superiority comparing with the method of least squares.In the practices production, the practicability of the best approximations algorithm can be shown. The frequency stability is about±1ppm in the temperature range: -20℃~70℃. The frequency stability...
