It is widely known that information communication is very important to the development of a firm. Faced with the incresingly delevoping information environment, many firms continue to search for medias to improve their efficient information communication to ensure their survival and sustainable growth. However, much more research efforts are still required to be made to gain inside looks it both in practitioners and acadmic researchers.The purpose of the present study is to provide an individual level analysis with the aim to investigate information-communication behavior of staff in firms.Three questions is resove compose the main content of this thesis.The first is to find the factors that affect media selection. The second is to compare the IT-based media and the traditional media. And the third is to compare the similarity and difference of media selection among different NPD phases.A questionnaires survey is carried out among staff in firms. 168 valid samples are collected out of 200 with effective return-ratio 84.0% in three months. The data is qualified according to the general rule of construce validity and reliability after the reorganization and theexamination for quality of scale had been made.The data is analyzed by using SPSS statistical method. The main conclusion include: (1)Compared to traditional media, IT-based media has some advantages;(2)Quickly response and individual motivation are two stable factors that affect the use of media;(3)Media characteristic is partly influence the selection of media.It is a challenging job to research the media selection behavior. Some significant conclusions are drawn from this research. While considering some complexity of the issue, the limitation of this study are unavoidable. In the end, the writer some advices are given to the future research.
