Based On The Mpc8260 Embedded Systems Development And Research

The embedded system based on MPC8260 microprocessor is very powerful in network communication. Because of this unique advantage, it has been used widely in network communication area. The development of this embedded system is lucubrated systemically in this paper. The main contents of this paper are as follows:1. The basic architecture and characteristics of the MPC8260 microprocessor are studied. On analyzing the requirement of the hardware platform, the holistic design scheme of the hardware platform is pointed out and the detailed design of each functional block is presented. The stable, reliable hardware platform is realized.2. The constitution, functional characteristics and integration development environment of VxWorks real-time embedded operating system are studied systemically. Board Support Package (BSP) is lucubrated and the file structure of BSP is analyzed and summarized.3. The boot sequence of the whole embedded system is lucubrated and summarized. The concepts of bootrom image and VxWorks iamge and the way of fabricating, downloading the two images are given. The concrete boot sequences of the two images are analyzed in detail.4. The development of Board Support Package (BSP) is carried out. The concrete design and realization of the hardware platform initialization, driver program of serial port and driver program of 10/100M Ethernet port are put forward. The designs of the latter two are lucubrated mainly.5. The test results of the hardware platform and BSP are given. The development process of embedded system and my research work are summed up. Based on the test results, some modification suggestions are pointed out to amend the limitation of the previous design.
