Emergencies Spokesman Crisis Public Relations

Sudden events occur suddenly and they are closely related with people's life and property, social stability and unity and international influence. Furthermore, owing to the advanced modern communication means, a spokesman's crisis public relations in sudden events becomes especially important. The SARS event in late spring and early summer in 2003 caused the spokesman system to develop fast. From this event, a spokesman proved to be very important in sudden events and the public could feel the great significance of immediate information.In this paper, the great importance of a spokesman in sudden events is analyzed through quite a number of real cases. The problems in the information issuance of sudden events in present China are also pointed out. Connected with the study of public relations, sociology, psychology and communication theories, the comprehensive quality of a spokesman in crisis public relations and the principles and strategy in crisis public relations are also pointed out. This paper will help a spokesman to make full use of the press in emergency so he can stand in the leading status of the news and strengthen the controlling ability in crisis public relations. In this way, a spokesman can be confident and at ease; the information can be effectively communicated and the loss in crisis will be reduced to the least extent, and sound public relations can be rebuilt in time.
