Artificial Immune System Theory And Its Applied Research In The Anti-spam Technology

Artificial immunology is a new research field in computing intelligence. The primary object of this paper is to study artificial immune system, develop an artificial immune system model in which the characters of extensibility and commonability exist. We apply artificial immune priciples to design spam filter, and use these as a in-deepth research of the application of our achievement to engineering. In this paper, We first introduce the current reaserch status of artificial immune system and anti-spam technique, then we simply present the basic theory of the electronic mail , the biologic background of artificial immune system and some traditional anti-spam technique. The emphasis of this paper lies in the basic theory of artificial immune system and its application to design anti-spam filter. So we use great space to study the two. We mainly discuss the modeling method of artificial immune system which has a inductive significance for mail filter technique. We investigate the structure design, algorithm flow and algorithm module, and deeply analyse the process and result of experiment. The effect of parameter on the performance of algorithm also involved. The main innovation of this paper lies in that we invent a new immune algorithm suitable for many pattern recognition problem include the text classification, and modify it to apply to the design of spam filter. The results of the experiment indicate that our method has higher recognition rate and better adaptability than traditional spam filter technique.
