In this thesis, a remote detecting and recording system for the covering effect of broadcasting signal is introduced, which is based on the application technology PSTN and Modem. This system is in answer to the request of the State Administration of Radio Film and Television which appeals for the establishment and perfecting of a modern inspecting system for broadcasting. And this thesis bases on the lack status of nowadays for every broadcasting station of our country still uses a rough method to estimate the inspecting work. The remote instrument of detecting could tune to the initialized frequency, and receive the intensity of electric field and record the data in a memory chip. Then the control center sends orders to query the data through PSTN by Modem. Finally, a software written by VB's function elements such as MSCOMM, DAO, and MSChart. This thesis analyzes the principles of PSTN, proves the tenet about its application, and solves the problems in the design. At the same time an experiment for the running situation of this system is done. However it emphasizes on the application of the remote acquisition by MCU and Visual Basic software design for the Control Center. In conclusion, this system is a perfect innovation for the inspecting and administration of broadcasting stations all levels in our country. In addition, the main elements of this system could be used for reference in many other fields such as traffic detecting, electrical power inspecting, river level inspecting, and so on. It is a system of simple construction but practical, and its perspective should be abroad.
