Data recovery is a difficult problem that can not be handled with satisfication. The loss is unavoidable that caused by the disk disaster, for the reason of centralized management of basic storage units. This study introduced some concepts from the cause of the disk disaster, to the analysis to the popular file systems as FAT, NTFS, NETWARE, LINUX, testified that the storages of these file systems are based on the RAW, and testified that the layout of a file' s basic storage units is disorder for the fragments of the file. The data can not be recoveried in the case of the file allocation table is lost since the sector of data can be accessed successfully. This study offered a protocol with full feasibility, GDSP( general data storage protocol), that set a header at every basic storage unit on a disk and can organize the fragments of the file orderly instead of relying on the file allocation table only in order to data recovery. But GDSP has no receivable method to handle with the directory of the file systems, insteaded, to treat it as a special file.
