With the development of the technology of computer, communication and the like, traditional DSS is evolving to group decision support system (GDSS) which is now a forward project in information field.Beginning with theory research, the dissertation analyses principles of group decision-making (GDM). We abstract fundamental elements of GDM as a 5-tuple, which includes set of members, object, set of methods, set of schemes and set of corporations, and, from the view of system engineering, propose a 3D dynamic morphological model for GDM to describe the relationship of these 5-tuple. So, the theory framework of GDSS is established.According to GDM' s fundamental elements, the dissertation suggests the basis of GDSS design, GDSS' s function requirements, as: member management, task management, method support, scheme making, procedure control and corporation. Because China' s basic decision-making pattern is of cooperation, we propose the GDSS architecture of master-slave type, which is composed of an integral decision making subsystem and several individual decision making subsystems. And we design and implement hierarchical structure of software system for GDSS, i. e. database series layer, cooperative management layer and interactive control layer. We also propose master-slave integral design method of GDSS software, in which, every node can be set as any role. With respect to group decision support algorithms, for each of the two decision-making types, i.e. command type and cooperation type, a task-decomposing algorithm proposed respectively, and finally an optimizing algorithm for decision plans is induced.In system integration respect, in order to provide a platform for GDM problem solving, based on database management system and file management of operating system, a series of bases, i.e., a problem base, a model base, a knowledge base, a graphic base, a text base and a database, are established. For each base, corresponding management system is developed. .The idea of multi-dimension information interaction is proposed, an interactive GDSS operating interface of multi-function, multi-medium and multi-hierarchy is also implemented. The shortcoming of traditional multi-task mode is overcome that multi media in network environment can not be synchronized in real time. So GDSS can be raised to a higher level by combining with videoconference system.In application respect, based on collectivity design of Sian FengQing Park, A group decision support system for park design (PGDSS) is established.
