With the rapid growth of information, the storage method of data is going through several generations of revolutions, in the newest revolutionary generation, SAN technology is in the head . The revolutionary character of SAN embodies in: It has broken the traditional mode of storage taking server as the centre, and has established the new storage mode taking storing as centre in the interconnection structure of the network. Its application idea has not only met the storage demand for the large amounts of data, but also met demands such as long-term usability of data and holding calamity ability through some technological direction expanded newly.Under the background that storage technology is progressing rapidly, I has finished the theoretical research content of this text through summarizing from practice and innovating on the theory after participating in maintenance on storage management system based SAN and development of the new function. In conclusion, the content is showed mainly in several below directions,1. Have carried on horizontal comparison to the popular storage technologies, and to introduce topological structure, technological advantages of SAN ,etc.2. Have carried on the statement one by one to the key technology based on storage management system , including disk array technology , fibre channel technology, network store and back up technology, file-sharing technology, etc.3. To introduce storage management system RVM on the whole, including the basic conception and common commands of RVM,etc.4. The technology of snapshot whose purpose is to support sustain usability of data is the new function of RVM , design and realization of module FSOpiton that is used to perform the function of the snapshot in RVM effectively has been stated , it is carried on from several facets such as the application demand , design procedure .efficiency ,etc.5. Have explained another new function of RVM -Atomic Break Group, and this function is to ensure consistency and integrality of data storage.The above-mentioned research contents take RVM as reference model to realize them, this model is summarized by the practice about storage management system that I participate in , this system has been tested strictly whether about the security or about operational efficiency and has good actual value and theory reference value.
