With the development of the technologies of micro-electronics, computers, the network, and the application of them in MCS (measure and control system), the new ideals of design and the new model of realization appear now, which break through the conventional pattern. The new generation of MCS has flexible operating pattern, reasonable structure, scientific tasks assignment, and shows a splendid future.This subject designs the modularized common-use platform of MCS, which combines a high performance processor and an embedded RTOS. The platform has powerful functions of gathering information, processing data, controlling devices, sharing resources and performing communication in time. It overcomes the defects of traditional MCS such as lack of processing ability, effective communication and automatization. The performance of new MCS is increased in information processing and ethernet communication.Regarding the requirement of the system pattern and communication mode, this paper presents the design and the realization of a hardware platform based on S3C2410X processor, which was constituted with common board and expanded board. Nucleus operating system is selected as a core of the software, which can fulfill the requirement of real-time capability and reliable performance. It is ported to the platform successfully. Ethernet communication is realized by using an ethernet controller and the TCP/IP protocol stack. Because the TCP/IP protocol is featured by uncertainty, this paper also introduces some methods to improve the real-time capability of ethernet communication.As a result, this platform of MCS has been applied in oil chromatogram apparatus. After a long time testing, it is verified reasonable and perfect and has actual value.
