Digital Library (DL) is a hot field in computer application development. DL, the natural result of the fervent network development, features digital process, storage, management and transmission of information. With the popularity of DL, readers can have access to so much precious knowledge far away from them previously not available to them; what's more, information and knowledge can indeed be shared among the globe community using DL.But there definitely exist some handicaps in the DL development, one of which is security and IPR problem. This paper present a model for access control and IPR protection of digital products based on DL project. This model is a improvement for the existed TRS Text retrieve system), which is used by library of our university to establish a featured dissertation search and retrieval system. After the enhancement of the model, we generally realize three functions as follows. (1) restricted access rights for readers; (2) copyright declaration for digital products; (3) tampering verification for digital products. With the aims above, firstly, we introduce a role-based access control method using mark. Mark is employed to correspond to role and permission for the convenience of system accession. On the other hand, digital watermark is also being utilized, with the aim to protect the digital products from the unauthorized copy operation and tampering which are rampant today. We artfully employ several watermark algorithms to tackle different security requirement for DL project, namely DCT( Diskrete cosinus Transformation) and LSB (Least significant Bit) algorithms.
