JXTA technology is a new kind of network technology that is proposed by Sun Microsystems Company in February 2001. It is used to provide an infrastructure service for P2P application. JXTA is developed as a common flat on which peer-to-peer and distributed services and applications can be easily constructed. With the help of JXTA, peer-to-peer application developers need not think too much about the details of peer-to-peer technology, so they can concentrate on designing high-level application, hi its network search JXTA uses the DHT method, which is very complex, low efficiency and difficulty to implement. This kind of search method can only be used in the limited network, so it has little chance to be used broadly. This paper observes the faults in the management method of rendezvous in P2P network based on the JXTA technology, and presents an efficient management method of rendezvous. This method can effectively control the number of rendezvous in the network. We notice that the management of RPV in JXTA network is deficient. This phenomenon is likely to reduce the network performance and search efficiency. We show that it is necessary and feasible to select rendezvous of high priority from the RPV, and organize the RPV by priority. We present the concept of group peer. The group peer can efficiently resolve the problem of maintenance of RPV. Meanwhile, we advance a management tactic of group peers and a corresponded search tactic. We modify the search reach expression, which is broadly used to analysis P2P network, and use it to analysis JXTA network. The analyses shows that the improved search method and themanagement effect enhance the flexibility and search efficiency of JXTA network.
