With the growth of software complicity and scope, it becomes more and more important of software reusability and maintainability. Component-based software (CBS) has the properties of high reusability and maintainability, so it becomes the hot-point of software development. Software reliability, a focus of software field, is an important factor of software quality. This thesis aims to analyze and discuss how to construct CBS with high reliability.There exist three methods to construct CBS: normal method, method based on component database, method based on redundancy. For the limitation of cost in software development, these methods have some disadvantages.Based on these methods, this thesis analyzes the idea of Simplex and Operative-Section respectively, and gains the advantage and disadvantage of them. Then the thesis combines these two ideas and improves the strategy for CBS construction, named SO method. This method can use redundancy technology suitably, and also can construct a higher reliable CBS with the lower cost. At the end of this thesis, reliability and capacity-price ratio are used to evaluate every construct method.We gain the result from compare and analysis: SO method possesses high capacity-price ratio. With the limitation of cost, this method can improve the software reliability of CBS.
