Based Client / Server Mode Management Information System Development And Research

Today, with the rapid development of information. Management Information System (abbreviated as MIS) has been a very large domain in the application of computer. Accordingly, the developing methods, technology and tools have been a significant subject which should be studied.In this thesis,1 will mainly discuss and study the development of MIS ,which run under the environment of Client/Server (abbreviated as C/S), with the instance of Dandong Airport MIS.The key points of the development of MIS are architecture and developing methods. In the aspect of architecture ,with the sake of the maturity of web technology and the enlargement of enterprises, the traditional central mode has not meet the needs of many users, which has been taken the place by mainframe mode, file server mode and C/S mode. System administrators can choose proper architecture in terms of the actual developing environment. C/S is choosed as the architecture of Dandong Airport MIS.Without the guide of developing methods in the process of MIS development, or the ignore of import status of developing methods , the failure is certainty. So the choice of developing method is another key factor of MIS development. With the progress of computer technology, development of software is getting more and more perfectly. Object-Oriented Methods (abbreviated as OOM) are different from traditional methods and treated as the hope of solving software crisis.In actual development ,all methods are not repellent each other, they are offen cross-applied for the aim of developing a efficient MIS. In the delopment of Dandong Airport MIS, Life-Cyle method, Rapid Prototyping method and OOM are integrated, thereby the efficiency is improved.Rational Rose is OO tool, which supports software developing thinking based on component. Rational Rose is used to analyse and design Dandong Airport MIS in this thesis.According to the equipment and fund condition of Dandong Airport, with the comparement of many software developing tool, we choose PowerBuilder/Sybase developing environment to achieve the MIS.
